Our profession can be financially challenging at times, and as a young and motivated professional I could not avoid taking on the challenge of finding new ways to boost its profitability. I briefly interrupted my architecture career and went off to study business. Early on in my studies I saw untapped potential in business model design, analysis and optimization that other industries are already exploiting and chose to look into it closer. Numerous business and economics scholars provided evidence in support of business models: according to Casadesus et al., 2010 firms can compete based on their business models, effective business models result in enhanced value creation (Morris et al., 2005) and become new guidelines for future firms to build on (Magretta, 2002).

In this blog readers will find my business models' analysis. I hope that it will not only be perceived as an interesting study, but also provide useful insight for architecture firms seeking ways to improve their businesses.
